Helambu Yolmo Trek is one of the shortest trekking in the nearest trekking region from Kathmandu. Helambu Region is easy to reach as it exists just 72 km far from Kathmandu. Parts of land stretching from Taramarang to sacred Gosainkunda and lower hills of Jugal Mountain is known as Helambu region.

Helambu Trek allows introduction to the rich natural and cultural vicinities of Nepal. We will explore Yolmo villages that locates on either side of Melamchi River.

Langtang Helambu Trek is open for all as it is an easy trek where trekking route commences and concludes at lower altitude. Observe the rich culture of Yolmo tribe. This is the perfect trek package if you want to explore less crowded trekking region of Nepal.  Yolmo region is considered sacred by Buddhists. Explore its rich monasteries and caves.

Saribung Adventure operates Helambu Yolmo Trek itinerary as 9-days package. We will leave Kathmandu and drive to Sundarijal from where our Helambu trek begins. We will climb the stone path and pass along hydroelectric dam to enter Shivpuri National Park. We will pass through Mulkharka village to Chisapani and witness stunning sunrise view. Helambu Trek Route continues through Thadepati to Tarkeghyang where we will visit the largest monastery in Helambu region before lowering down to Melamchi Pul where trek ends. Yolmo trekking is possible throughout the year.

Day07: Tarkeghyang to Sermathang (2610m)
Day08: Sermathang to Malemchi Pul Bazaar, Drive to Kathmandu
Day09: Departure.
Day01: Kathmandu Arrival (1310m)
After you disembark from the plane, you will have to go through custom formalities. Later, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to hotel for your luxurious stay. You will get briefing from your tour leader. Enjoy the welcome dinner.

Day02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
After breakfast, guide will take you for wonderful Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour during which you will visit UNESCO sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhu, Bouddhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kathmandu is the wonderful city where culture is embedded in the daily life of people. Pashupatinath is one of the holiest Hindu temple in the world. Swayambhunath is the oldest Buddhist stupa and Bouddhanath is the largest stupa. Bouddhanath is located in ancient trade route between Nepal and Tibet.

Day03: Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, Trek to Chisapani (2300m)
Early in the morning, we will drive to Sundarijal. It takes an hour of drive to reach Sundarijal (1350m). Helambu (Yolmo) Trek begins from Sundarijal. We will follow the escalating stone path through hydroelectric plant and enter Shivapuri National Park. Walk through the small Mulkharka village of Tamang natives and traverse rhododendron forest to reach Chisapani.

Day04: Chisapani to Kutumsang (2446m)
Wake up early in the morning for sunrise view and spectacular views of mountains. After breakfast, follow the descending trail from Chisapani. Pass through the green meadow rich in vegetation and crop fields. We can get spectacular views of Langtang Mountain from several points of our route. We will cross Pati Bhanjyang and walk through Gul Bhanjyang. Passing through yet another small pass, we will reach Kutumsang.

Day05: Kutumsang to Thadepati (3650m)
After early breakfast, we will leave Kutumsang and follow the ascending path along verdant forest of oaks and rhododendrons. We do not encounter many villages on this day. We will reach Yurin Danda after about 7hrs of trek. This is the great spot for witnessing mountain views. We will reach Thadepati for overnight stay.

Day06: Thadepati to Tarkeghyang (2560m)
Lower down from Thadepati and reach Melamchi Khola. Crossing the river, choose the escalating path to Tarkeghyang. We will cross few Sherpa hamlets on our way to Tarkeghyang. We will visit the Tarkeghyang monastery which is the oldest monastery in Helambu region. Most of the people living in Tarkeghyang are Hyolmos.

Day07: Tarkeghyang to Sermathang (2610m)
Follow the easy trail that crosses river and continues through forest to valley. Reach Gangyul that is inhabited by Sherpas. We will move through Gangyul to Sermathang where we will visit a local monastery before staying overnight in a lodge.

Day08: Sermathang to Malemchi Pul Bazaar, Drive to Kathmandu
This is the last day of Helambu Trek. We will cross Melamchi village and descend to Melamchi River. Walking further, we will arrive at Melamchi Pul Bazaar from where we will drive back to Kathmandu.

Day09: Departure
You will be dropped off at Tribhuvan International Airport approximately 3hours before your flight. Have a safe journey. We hope to see you soon.
