Rara Lake Trek is the package that you would like to choose if you are looking for trekking in least crowded area.  Located in Mugu district in the Far Western Region of Nepal, Rara Lake is Nepal’s biggest freshwater Lake. It takes 8complete hours of walking just to complete one circumambulation of Rara Lake.
Speaking of technicalities, Rara Lake is 5km long, 2km wide and 167m deep. Jumla to Rara Lake Trekking is not only popular for the sparkling Rara Lake but the area also offers views of magnificent Chuchemara Peak, Ruma Kand Peak and Malika Kand Peak. Opportunity of visiting Nepal’s smallest Rara National Park is another reason for participating in Rara Trekking.
We organize Rara Lake Trekking itinerary as 13-days package. Trekking route for Rara Lake begins from Jumla and surpasses dense forest which is rich in wildlife like deer, boar, ghoral, danphe and munal.
You will be provided an exciting Guided Kathmandu Day Tour before taking flight to Nepalgunj. We will take connecting flight to Jumla and assemble the crew for Rara trekking. Journey continues along small villages inhabited by culturally rich and friendly indigenous locals. We will pass through Padmara, Bumra, Gumra and Pine/ Pina to reach Rara Lake. We will explore around Rara Lake and begin our return trip through Ghorasain. Passing through Sinja, we will walk through Chere Chaur to Jumla from where we will board a flight to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
After you disembark from the plane, you will have to go through custom formalities. Later, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to hotel for your luxurious stay. You will get briefing from your tour leader. Enjoy the welcome dinner.  

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
After breakfast, guide will take you for wonderful Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour during which you will visit UNESCO sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhu, Bouddhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kathmandu is the wonderful city where culture is embedded in the daily life of people. Pashupatinath is one of the holiest Hindu temple in the world. Swayambhunath is the oldest Buddhist stupa and Bouddhanath is the largest stupa. Bouddhanath is located in ancient trade route between Nepal and Tibet. We will also acquire trekking permit.

Day 3: Flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj
We will head south and take 60 minutes of flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj which is a border town in western Nepal. Nepalgunj is known as gateway to Humla. We will visit local market and nearby villages and stay overnight in Nepalgunj.

Day 4: Nepalgunj to Jumla Flight, Trek to Padmara
It takes 20minutes of flight to reach Jumla from Nepalgunj. Jumla is a scenic town that exists below Sisne Himal and it allows access to serene Karnali region. We will assemble the crew and begin our trek by walking to Padmara. There are two ways to reach Rara. We can either head north and walk through Gumgarhi or head east from Dansanhu and cross Chaudbise River to arrive at Urthu from where the trail climbs to Ghurseni River before continuing to Padmara which is a village inhabited by Chhetri ethnics.

Day 5: Padmara to Bumra
Leave Padmara and head north to Ghurseni River. The trail climbs to Khali Langa Pass (3545m) which is located 4km far from Padmara. Descend from the pass and reach to the bridge that exists at 3353m. An hour of walk through scenic forest will take us to a bridge over Sinja River. We will cross the bridge and head west before following the ascending trail to Bumra.

Day 6: Gumra to Pine
Leaving Gumra early in the morning, we will walk for about one and half hour to arrive at Bhargaon (2890m). We will move north from Bhargaon and cross the bridge over Ghautha River. Taking the escalating trail, we will reach Chautha. Journey continues to lush green meadow from where we will head to Ghurchi Langna (3457m). After brief rest, we will climb through forested ridge to Pine.

Day 7: Pine to Rara Lake
We will cover 8km of distance to reach our ultimate destination of Rara Lake. The trail progresses through forest, river and spurs to the small village of Jhari. Heading west from Jhari, we will cross small hill for the first sight of sparkling Rara Lake. We will descend through meadow to western edge of Rara Lake.

Day 8: Explore Rara Lake
We will enjoy being so close to Nepal’s largest freshwater lake. We can do boating in Rara Lake and view different species of fishes that dwell in Rara Lake. Rara Lake area offers majestic views of Chuchemara Peak, Ruma Kand Peak and Malika Kand Peak.   

Day 9: Rara Lake to Ghorasain
Leaving Rara Lake premise, we will take an hour long of walk to Khatyar Gad. Cross the wooden bridge over river that exists below Murma (3139m) and follow the ascending trail to clearing area. Journey continues along scenic forest to reach the top of ridge from where we will head south and walk through the scenic path with panoramic views of mountains. Heading south-east, we will take the descending trail along eastern side of Chuchemara Peak to Ghorasain.

Day 10: Ghorasain to Sinja
Follow descending trail from Ghorasain to Botan (2895m) from where the path continues along Diyabala Danda that is located to the south of Ghorasain. Move west from Ghorasain and walk through the forested area to the hill. Continuing further, walk through Lumsa that offers scenic views of Sinja valley. Lower down to Okharpati village and take 2hrs of trek to Sinja.

Day 11: Sinja to Chere Chaur
Cross the wooden bridge over Sinja River and move south along Jaljale Gad that locates near to Lamathada. The trail continues along river before climbing the hill. Head south and follow the river to the forest. Exiting from the forest, climb to the top of a pass and lower down to headquarters of Ju Gad. We will lower down to Chere Chaur.

Day 12: Chere Chaur to Jumla
We will leave the meadow of Chere Chaur and It provides good views of the Jumla town, Tila valley and Chyakhure Lekh beyond. The return to the town camp is pleasant descent in slow stages.

Day 13: Jumla to Nepalgunj to Kathmandu flight
Take flight from Jumla to Nepalgunj and then take connecting flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu. You will be transferred to hotel in Kathmandu where you will have a pleasant stay.
