Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek is for those who are looking for long trekking in eastern Nepal. The advantage of choosing Kanchenjunga Circuit Trekking over Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is that this trek allows you with most extensive Kanchenjunga Trek surpassing both Kanchenjunga North Base Camp and Kanchenjunga South Base Camp.
We will take Kanchenjunga Circuit trekking route from North Base Camp to South Base Camp though the reverse route can also be chosen.
Kanchenjunga is the second highest mountain in Nepal presiding only by Everest Mountain. Kanchenjunga was open to outer world only since 1988. Enjoy the experience of least crowded trekking in Kanchenjunga region that is rich in more than 2000 diverse species of floras including rhododendron- the National flower of Nepal.
Saribung Adventure offers 22 days Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek Itinerary. We will board a flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and drive to Phidim from where our trekking begins. We will follow the remote path through Mitlung, Chirwa and Sekathum Kambachen from where journey continues through forest and valley of moraines and boulders to Pangpema which is the North Base Camp of Kanchenjunga. From Lhonak, we will pass through Ghunsa and Selele to South Base Camp of Kanchenjunga. Trek ends at Medibung from where we will drive to Bhadrapur from Ilam and take return flight from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu.
Experience the warm hospitality of locals and witness their rich culture. Walk through the forest of elusive snow leopard, Himalayan Black Bear and other beasts. March to May and September to November are best season for Kanchenjunga Trek. This is the difficult trek and thus it demands strong physical strength but the experience that you get from this trek makes it worth taking.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
After you disembark from the plane, you will have to go through custom formalities. Later, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to hotel for your luxurious stay. You will get briefing from your tour leader. Enjoy the welcome dinner.  

Day 02: Kathmandu to Bhadrapur Flight, Drive to Phidim
It takes 45minutes to reach Bhadrapur from Kathmandu by flight. Bhadrapur is an economic hub located in Jhapa District of Mechi Zone. Airport of Bhadrapur is known as Chandragadhi Airport. Bhadrapur is mainly known as Gateway for Darjeeling and Sikkim. From Bhadrapur, we will drive to Phidim. Stay overnight in hotel in Phidim.

Day 03: Phidim to Mitlung
From Phidim, we will drive to Suketar. Kanchenjunga Circuit Trekking begins at Suketar. It takes 5hrs of pleasant walk to reach Mitlung from Suketar. Enjoy walking along the scenic bank of Tamor River which is one of the major rafting river in Nepal. Stay overnight in Mitlung village.
Day 04: Mitlung to Chirwa
We chase the descending trail for most of the day. The journey continues through dispersed settlements ofSinwa and Tawa. The route offers exquisite views of majestic mountains and peaks.  We will reach Chirwa in about 5hrs where we will stay overnight. Chirwa is inhabited by Limbu ethnic.

Day 05: Chirwa to Sekathum
It takes about 6hrs to reach Sekathum from Chirwa. The path is scenic. We need to cross coniferous forest of pine and rhododendron. We will also cross Tamor and Ghunsa River at few points. We will stay overnight at Sekathum.   

Day 06: Sekathum to Amjilosa
The challenging part of Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek begins at this point. After early breakfast, we will leave Sekathum. The trail leads us through forest and deep gorges to Amjilosa in about 6hrs where we will stay overnight.   

Day 07: Amjilosa to Gyabla
Journey continues on this day through bamboo and rhododendron forest. First part of trek begins from river bank. We will arrive at stone house built as rest place for trekkers. From there, the trail escalates uphill to Gyabla which is a Tibetan settlement.

Day 08: Gyabla to Ghunsa
The trail drops down from Gyabla to the river from where journey continues through valley and continues uphill to Phale. Phale is a refugee area. You can buy handicrafts items in this area. We need to pass through forested area to Ghunsa which is a Sherpa village. Time permitting, we can visit Laspsan La Monastery.  

Day 09: Ghunsa to Kambachen
Leaving Ghunsa, we will head north along river bank. The path intrigues us with spectacular views of majestic mountains. We will cross pine forest and arrive at Rampuk Kharka. We will cross the bridge and walk past landslide area to Kambachen. We can get scenic view of Mount Jannu on our way.  

Day 10: Kambachen to Lhonak
Kambachen is located in mesmerizing Nupchu River Valley. We will follow the rocky path through moraines and boulders to the river and walk past cascading waterfall to the bridge. Crossing the bridge, we will reach Ramtang Monastery from where we will walk through landslide area to river. Walking further, we will reach Lhonak where we will stay overnight. 

Day 11: Lhonak to Kanchenjunga BC North, Back to Lhonak
We will reach Kanchenjunga Base Camp on this day. Leaving Lhonak, we will reach Pangpema which is the Kanchenjunga Base Camp. Moving through Kanchenjunga Glacier, we will reach Kanchenjunga Base Camp on north side. We can get scenic views of Jannu Mountain, Chang Mountain and Kanchenjunga Mountain from Base Camp. We will return to Lhonak for overnight stay.

Day 12: Lhonak to Ghunsa
Leaving Lhonak, we will head towards Ghunsa on this day. The trail continues through Kambachen to Ghunsa via forested area of pine and rhododendron tree to reach valley where we will visit Ramtang Monastery. We can get views of Kanchenjunga Mountain, Taple Shikhar Mountain, Mera Peak and Gimmigela Peak before arriving at Khambachen from where we will descend to Ghunsa.   

Day 13: Ghunsa to Selele
We need to follow the ascending path from Ghunsa to Selele. We will follow the trail via forest of rhododendron ad juniper to Selele where we will stay overnight.

Day 14: Selele to Tseram
Leaving Selele early in the morning, we will follow the ascending trail to Tseram which is also known as Cheram. We can get scenic views of Jannu Mountain, world’s sixth highest Makalu Mountain on the way. We will cross Sinion La Pass and Mirgin La Pass to reach Sinelapche Hill from where we will lower down to Tseram. 

Day 15: Trek to Kanchenjunga BC south, Return to Tseram
From Tseram, we will trek to South Base Camp of Kanchenjunga for amazing mountain views of Kanchenjunga and other mountains in Tibet and Nepal. We will return to Tseram in the afternoon for overnight stay. 

Day 16: Tseram to Tarangden
The trail branches off from Tseram. We will follow the descending path to reach Simbuwa River from where we will head through forest of rhododendron and pine to Tarangden for overnight stay. 

Day 17: Tarangden to Yamphudin
Leaving Tarangden, we will follow the ascending path to Lasia Bhanjyang. From Lasia Bhanjyang, we will pass through forested ridge to landslide area from where the trail drops down to Yamphudin village. Yamphudin is a culturally rich village that is inhabited by Sherpa, Rai and Limbu ethnics. 

Day 18: Yamphudin to Khebang
We will leave Yamphudin and follow the lowering trail to Omje River. We will cross Omje River and climb through the forest of orchid to dispersed settlement area. Moving further, we will reach Khebang Hill from where the trail descends to Khebang village. 

Day 19: Khebang to Kahngdembe
Leaving Khebang behind, we will follow the descending trail through forest. Later, we need to pass through few tea houses before arriving at Kahngdembe which is one of the largest Limbu village in the region. We will stay overnight in Kahngdembe.

Day 20: Kahngdembe to Ilam
From Kahngdembe, we will trek for 3hrs to reach Medibung that is located at 1510m altitude. Kanchenjunga Circuit trek ends at Medibung. We will drive from Medibung and reach Ilam in 4hrs where we will stay overnight. Ilam is famous for its tea garden.

Day 21: Drive to Bhadrapur, Flight to Kathmandu
From Ilam, we will drive to Bhadrapur from where we will take return flight to Kathmandu. You will be transferred to hotel for pleasant stay.

Day 22: Departure
You will be dropped off at Tribhuvan International Airport approximately 3hours before your flight. Have a safe journey. We hope to see you soon.
